 We proudly welcome accomplished author, Ann   Hood, as our special guest. 

Ann has won a Best American Spiritual Writing Award, the Paul Bowles Prize for Short Fiction, and two Pushcart Prizes. 

Most recently, her essays and short stories have appeared in GOOD HOUSEKEEPING, THE NEW YORK TIMES, LADIES HOME JOURNAL, MORE, TIN HOUSE, PLOUGHSHARES, and THE PARIS REVIEW.

Her novel, THE KNITTING CIRCLE, was published by Norton in January of 2007.  -  "One can only admire Hood for the effort she makes in this book to describe an insupportable grief... The lesson--that by being willing to share our stories, we learn how to live--cannot live--cannot be dismissed." --Boston Globe. On May 5, 2009, her 2008 novel, COMFORT, will be released in paperback and can be purchased on www.amazon.com. It was rated "Top Ten Non-Fiction Book of 2008 by Entertainment Weekly.  

Ann has graciously donated an autographed copy of her novel, THE KNITTING CIRCLE,  as one our auction items.
