We Need PETsMART Cat Caretakers!

The Providence Animal Rescue League needs volunteers to care for our cats that are at the Luv-A-Pet Offsite Adoption Center at the PETsMART store in Warwick. The Adoption center is open 7 days a week and we have 2 hour AM and PM shifts each day that need to be filled. Duties include the following:

AM Shift (begin between 8 & 10am):

ö   Clean Cages; set up empty cages

ö   Feed and water cats

ö   Wash soiled litterboxes and dishes

ö   Sweep floor

ö   Tidy supply closet

ö   Empty trash

ö   Love the cats!

PM Shift (begin between 4 & 7pm):

ö   Check litterboxes; scoop if necessary

ö   Check water; fill if necessary

ö   Spot clean cages as needed

ö   Restock PARL brochures and volunteer applications

ö   Sweep floor if necessary

ö   Put away washed litterboxes and dishes from back room

ö   Tidy supply closet

ö   Give cats LOTS of lovin’!

PETsMART Caretakers must fulfill the requirements on the volunteer page, have a love of cats and the ability to work independently. The required training for this position is the same as for positions in our shelter plus the Cat Handling Class. Over 400 cats are adopted from this location and part of the reason is because of all of our volunteers who care for them so well. Please consider joining our team!
